The European Commission has adopted a communication to help national authorities, businesses and citizens prepare for the changes that will arise in the relationship between the European Union and the United Kingdom at the end of 2020.
The communication, dated on 9 July 2020, sets out an overview of the main areas of change (including customs and taxation rules) that will take place in any event as of the end of the transition period (i.e. 31 December 2020), and whether there is an agreement on a future partnership between the European Union and the United Kingdom or not.
