On 17 March 2021, the Hong Kong Legislative Council passed the Stamp Duty (Amendment) Bill 2020 to give effect to the proposal to abolish the doubled ad valorem stamp duty on non-residential property transactions with effect from 26 November 2020 as announced in the 2020 Policy Address.
