The National Revenue Agency has published a written clarification on the application of the social security and health insurance legislation for 2022. The document provides details on the changes that will be applied as of 1 April 2022 as follows:

• minimum monthly social security income of self-insured persons will be increased from BGN 650 to BGN 710;
• maximum monthly social security income will be increased from BGN 3,000 to BGN 3,400;
• minimum social security income of registered farmers and tobacco producers will be increased from BGN 420 to BGN 710; and
• social security rates for the "Accidents at work and occupational diseases" fund will be changed (see here).

Bulgaria has promulgated amendments to the Corporate Income Tax (CIT) Act, which provide that the tax on expenses related to personal use of business assets is decreased from 10% to 3%. The new tax rate is applied retroactively as of 1 January 2022.
